The Central district is known for many food options with ethical flair. These include a variety of Ethiopian, hispanic, and Chinese restaurants as well as many pizzerias. On the other hand, there are also some more well known options for dining from Subway, Jimmy Johns, Taco del Mar, and many more. The Central district is not huge on dinner or late night date eateries, however, the food culture is diverse and affordable. The bar and nightclub scene is not huge in the immediate Central District area, but on the outskirts, bordering downtown, chinatown, and capital hill areas, there is a vibrant nightlife including large and small bars, sports bars aplenty, and some number of nightclubs.

The Central District (CD) hosts a variety of storefront options on a small and local scale. From small barber shops and salons, auto repair shops, dance studios, independent restaurant chains, and convenience stores galore, the CD has everything the average citizen needs within walking distance. A little farther out from the Central District center lies Home Depot and Lowes, bars and larger, more expensive eating options, clothing stores, and some small measure of attractions.
The job market is growing, yes, in the Central District area. However, the average citizen living in this part of Seattle is below the poverty line or otherwise low income. Large income jobs are not the average in this area. On the growing side of employment are jobs in construction with the increase in the housing market boom, more hospital and RN position at the numerous hospitals dotting this location, and many retail positions at the many small convenience stores in the CD. Overall, I feel the job market is on the rise in the area but it could be better in my opinion.
