Mention Village is a great neighborhood. I've lived in a range of neighborhoods in Columbus, from well established to and up and coming and Merion Village by far has seen the most improvement. It offers a suburb feel within an urban area. It's close to downtown and walking distance to the Scioto trails, Schiller Park and the rest of German Village. It's also what many would refer to as the "gayborhood" of Columbus, which makes for a diverse and welcoming community. Yes, some parts are grittier than others and the more south you go, the less safe it is in general, but you will get that in any urban neighborhood. My spouse and I bought a home here in Merion Village a few years back because of close proximity to our jobs and easy commute at large. We really have come to love the area, not to mention the rapidly growing equity our home is seeing.

The area is working class, like i said before good location but the people that live here really don't put much into their properties! Some of them do but for the most part their is not love put into their houses. I would say about 40% of the people rent which is why there is no care about what the property looks like.
The houses are fair. Just okay in functioning condition a lot of them could use new siding, paint, and porch repairs to make them more appealing. They houses are more in functioning condition not visually pleasing conditions.
