There is not a lot of crimes such as thefts, kidnapping, etc. There is graffiti and road violations but not major things.
The area I live in is home to many lower class citizens. Also occupied in this space are small retail shops and restaurants. I prefer to think that this area is better suited for those living in this area with little professional job experience or perhaps no secondary education persued. So in this area jobs are there for those who need them but the job market isn't necessarily growing. The area is crowded with stores so growth in new real estate is small.
The most notable offenses I observe are 1. Noise. between occasional speeding cars late at night and neighbors blasting music the neighborhood is quite. neighbors too are friendly enough to approach and share your concern regarding music and they in my experience are quick to comply without police involvement. 2. speeding or careless driving. My neighbor on the corner has had his hard run into and over too many times to count, but I don't think that reflects on the people living in the neighborhood rather how people think they can drive in our neighborhood.
I suppose in a comparison of neighborhoods from mine to the neighborhoods in cherry hills it could be quitter people could be safer, but in the end I don't feel like I'm in danger living where I do or going outside.
