The community is primarily populated with people of low income. There are a lot of opportunities to volunteer and participate in the community, but there are not many jobs available. It is also bereft of easy access to different kinds of groceries and stores, being dominated by fast food restaurants and convenience stores. It is seen as a "bad" area of town, but I like where I stay because I am close to public transit, downtown, colleges, my clinic, and places to volunteer. Also, there are a lot of good people where I live.

Although there are some areas with very nice real-estate, for the most part the properties are rundown and unkempt. Unfortunately, because of the proximity to downtown and the more fancy houses, many of these properties are overpriced. For renting, however, prices tend to be in the lower range, but for a reason. Many of the rental properties are old or out-dated and reside in areas where many people would not feel secure.
This area is pedestrian friendly when it comes to sidewalks and public transit. There are even a few bike trails. However, it is not the safest area to walk alone. For those with a car, there is little parking availability, and it is often congested in certain areas because of construction. Also, some people are inconsiderate and unsafe drivers. However, it is mostly an easy drive.
