The Lower Haight has all of the pros of living in a metropolitan bohemia and not really any of the cons - with the exception of an increase in real estate, as well as some crime (but this is true of almost any highly populated area that's in large demand). It's right at the center of the San Francisco, which conveniently can get you to anywhere you need to go in a quick bind.
It's Haight Ashbury's cooler younger sister, without all of the hippies from Golden Gate Park roaming around aimlessly.

The Lower Haight neighborhood of SF spans a multitude of scenes and routines. There are calm residential streets with lots of trees and gardens as well as the vibrant and famous Haight St. with nightlife and much more.
There are two wonderful record stores and a legendary synthesizer store. There are plenty of organic groceries and home essentials as well as a CVS. There are several famous bars, music venues and many wonderful Cafes. There is a variety of food and Cafes on Divisadero St. as well as a comic and game store. There is just so much in this neighborhood. I recommend checking out the area on google maps as there is a lot to see and do.
I like that the neighborhood believes in maintaining it's unique identity and rejecting large companies from moving in and disrupting the family and minority filled neighborhood by increasing rents.
