There's always something to do once you step out of your place. From great museums, theater, night light, restaurants. I particularly loving walking on the Riverwalk and taking in the beautiful sights and architecture this city has to offer!
I really enjoy my dorm building location because not only is it close to the Red Line, Blue Line, and bus routes, as well as my classroom buildings, but it is right in the middle of Chicago's South Loop. There is always something going on in the South Loop, and everything is within walking distance. My dorm building, University Center, is shared with not only fellow Columbia College Chicago students, but students from Roosevelt, De Paul, and Robert Morris. There always events going on in the dorm building. It is right next to the Auditorium Theatre, where I went with other students and some R.A's to see the ballet "Swan Lake" with a student discount of $15! Also, the Art Institute, Field Museum, Planetarium and Shedd Aquarium are all either within walking distance, or a short bus ride. The University Center is the quintessential dorm building in the Chicago South Loop. Because it is so close to other learning institutions, it has helped broaden my mind and given me a passion for learning that grows daily.
This is a very central area to live in as much of the activity in Chicago happens here. There are great shopping opportunities, food options, and many people work here as well. Commuting is easily accessible and spread out everywhere. This area is clean and safe, along with convenient and access to the rest of the city.
