Lived near 50th Street since 2013.Highly walkable area & you can get 11 or 36 trolley to Center City in 10 minutes. The 12 bus gives the scenic route. Most of my neighbors are seniors who take pride in their homes. There are quite a few homes being newly remodeled. I have noticed a few people who have been priced out of Cedar Park buying in my section of Kingsessing. The only thing I'd change would be that the owners of the large vacant properties on the 5000 block of Woodland should be held accountable for the condition of them. Either maintain and occupy or be forced to sell. We have Comegys Playground, Kingsessing Rec Center, park & library, and Clark Park (which was once considered part of Kingsessing until that area was rebranded University City). There are also a few small food businesses that have great food. Close to universities.
Up and coming area. People take care of there homes in this area and alot of contractor trucks are in the are and lots of ladders, so when you see that, that only means good things and thats area getting better.
I am from south west Philadelphia, in my neighborhood everyone is very friendly and very is easy to get along with. Kids come outside play. In the summer there are two pools the children can go to and have fun. I love my neighborhood. I would choose to live here again. It's very comfortable to live around. My neighborhood is one of the cleanest places in Philadelphia. The house a beautiful and new ones are being built. Schools are turning into charter schools and their school systems are getting a little better than what they were before. I can see myself living in this area in the future
