Kingsbridge has been the place I call home for all of my life. Growing up in the Bronx has this stigma of violence and anarchy, but that isn't the picture for all of its residents. Especially the one apart of Kingsbridge. Although we may face issues, our love for our community shines through it all and we are able to create memories that have shaped each and everyone in their own way.
I live in the Kingsbridge Heights area. It’s wonderful. I have great views of New Jersey, GWB and I do live in a tall building. The sunsets are gorgeous. It’s tends to be a very quiet community off of Sedgwick.
It’s very open and have many options to be outdoors: Van Cortlandt Park; Mosholu Parkway; walks around the Jerome Park Reservoir; Woodlawn Cemetery; and the New York Botanical Gardens. I love to watch the hawks soaring overhead.
If a person wants to eat out there is Broadway and Riverdale within walking distance. The low density of restaurants in Kingsbridge Heights helps keep the rat population under control.
The transportation is very convenient. The 1 train is nearby and lots of bus options.

Lived here for the longest and in general it's nice. Of course everywhere you go there will be your pros and cons. I think it's a nice area that is close to various stores where you can get anything you're looking for. Theres also parks near by and transit options that I think are very accessible as well. Fordham is one stop away in the train/bus and has so many stores and places to eat/shop. The only thing to take note of is how sketchy it can get in the night sometimes. Besides that however, it's a nice area in general.
