I love Kensington! It mostly consists of the 11218 zip code. I appreciate the down-to-earth, low key, and friendly neighbors. There is zero competition to have a nicer lawn or more decorated home. We respect each other for our true value. The best part is that I have a nice yard!
I like that there are many transportation options where I live so I get to my destination with the least amount of walking and the least amount of time. There are good elementary and middle schools in the Kensington community. However, there is no high school or college in this area so you have to use the transportation services available to travel there. The neighborhood is not bad, however, they are not friendly either. There is a path between the street and sidewalk on both sides of the street. Along that path, there are benches you can sit on and a place you can bike and/or run. It is a great place to have a quick morning run or exercise.
My parents have been living in the area for 18 years. I love the neighborhood however rent is not easily affordable. Theres many options of public transportation, so its accessible. There are new schools and buildings being built in the area and so many different options for food, especially the Thai restaurant on beverly road and the taco trucks. There is a library close by and multiple supermarkets for your needs. Overall the neighborhood is a great place.
