I really like the abundance of transportation as well as the accessibility. There are restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance from the bus terminal, however at night the area does get a little sketchy. There is a police station (16th District) down the block, however, they are building section 8 housing right across the street from the building which is something to keep in mind when moving into or commuting in the heart of Jefferson Park. Ladies, always keep your mace on you and be aware of your surroundings because when the sun goes down and most commuters are gone, without a police presence within reach the area does seem to downgrade.

Jefferson Park is a wonderful community. I feel extremely safe in my area. However, near the train station, there are a lot of people doing illegal acts, such as underage drinking and smoking. Our community doesn't take that seriously enough, I want to see a change in our youth, so that we can provide a better future for the future generations. Jefferson Park provides countless of programs for the youth, I just want to encourage the youth to take advantage of these opportunities more.
I like that Jefferson Park is open to all types of people. It’s smaller than some areas, but almost anywhere you go you can see somebody you know and that’s always nice to see! Something I’d like to see change is the amount of stores and little shops around the area. There isn’t too much to do and I’d like to see more.
