I like that Hollis has two nearby busy avenues which provides access to grocery stores, delicatessens, farmer's markets, fast food, public transportation, liquor stores, doctor's offices, and dollar stores. There have been an increasing amount of crime, however, which may facilitate feelings of fear. There should be an increase of public safety. In the last few years, there have been good changes such as traffic safety, including increasing traffic lights and stop signs, and an increase of greenery. Many businesses have been opening that offer the neighborhood more culturally diverse foods and different kinds of health care. One change I would like to see is another grocery store which offers cheaper and healthier food options.
Cat callers, clean neighboorhood, very diverse, houses are all very similar, caring community, good access to public transportation
I feel safe for the most part, very transit friendly easy to get around. The neighborhood is very diverse. Accessible to grocery stores, laundry, pharmacies and restaurants. If you like a place that is a active and has a large population of people then this is the place. The area is far from suburban and people can be very impatient but that is expected in most cities. The area is mostly quiet in the late hours of the night. Very good for singles, people who do not drive. Cabs are easy access at anytime. The city parks are also easily accessible, the neighborhood is minutes away from retail stores where their is a variety of stores to shop and at discounted prices.
