I have some fear of crime happening around me or to me. I have heard crimes happening around campus and it is quite disturbing how bad some crimes can be when it is near campus. I know it can't be helped if the police aren't around but it still bothers me that stabbings, robberies at gun-point can happen around campus from non-students.
I'm not employed at the moment but from what I know from people around me, I can say that the job market out there is available for musicians. The job market is competitive though so one must know the connections to get jobs but if you do have the connections, then getting a job is not that bad.
I think that the outdoors are kept really well in Austin. The outdoors around the university are nice and great for student-life. I feel though that there are still problems with littering around Austin and wish that the littering problem could be fixed.
