The crime rate has increased in the Greenville area of Jersey City. At one point, there was 10 shootings in a single week. My block is very quiet so there is no need for police, and I'm sure that if I needed them, they would come. However, I am concerned about the element of police brutality against minorities in the city. Although I am not an ethnic minority, and Jersey City is extremely diverse, these things do happen often.
Basically a quiet neighborhood bra cause it's a dead end street. Not sure I would choose to live here again. As far as ranking that's hard because we are in a very city like setting with a big population. A very urban area. We live close by a city college and they are building up the college with new dormitories down the street. So not sure if this will benefit our neighborhood or not
Only people we communicate with in our neighborhood is our neighbor and a family across the street. People here tend to keep to themselves. Half of the families here have pets of some sort. Mostly people keep to themselves. No real sense of a friendly community here
