The community is great. There's not much crime going on and the people are very nice and welcoming. There is a lot to do in the area like going to the gym, relax at café, and entertainment. If I had a chance to do it again I would choose the same place. I would put this community in the top 10 in the country. The future could bring a little bit more employment for the people of the community but for now its the place I would like to stay at!
I love the hot Florida weather! However there is so much humidity here in Jacksonville as we are on the St. John's River and on a coast. When it rains, it pours. Thunderstorms are frequent in the summer and late spring. Winters can get "brutal" (Florida standard) of 45 degrees sometimes. It seems that we can hardly get a consistent row of weather days here, the weather is unpredictable during the winter and spring.
In the most general terms, where I live now is perfectly average. The people in the area are generally friendly and nice, but we have had a rise in crime in recent years. There are a lot of interesting small businesses and restaurants, but being a suburb of the biggest city by land in the contiguous US it can take awhile to get around. I would be happy living here if I had to do it again, but I do think I could be happier elsewhere. Overall, there is a rise in diversity in the area that is contributing mostly positively to the growth of the area culturally and socially, but it bringing some drawbacks that should be addressed.
