Greater Southside Reviews
South Side pride is one thing we don't live down. Everyone is a family and the area is generally safe. After college I will defiantly come back to live here. Even though the weather is a little crazy, people from Des Moines are tough and know how to handle it. I see Des Moines' future growing, improving.
Local business in Iowa are pretty excellent. some stores that are very popular is Walmart, Hy-Vee, and Maurices. There is a ton of variety in Iowa you can pretty much get all the things you need at the stores near you. If you stop in at Walmart you can get your groceries, clothes, electronics, lawn and garden. I think we have big companies vs. mom- and- pop shops because most places have spread world wide and they don't care as much as smaller businesses. You can get everything that you need in Iowa.
When I am older I will be able to let my kids walk home with out worrying for their safety. Downtown is a little scary but for the most part it is safe, they are also improving downtown with new restaurants and places to get together.
