Grand Crossing Reviews
Rating 2.37 out of 5 30 reviews
The neighborhood is quiet, the neighborhood has friendly neighbors. I would like to see more training for jobs programs in the area and more job opportunities for the community.
What I would like to see changed in the neighborhood is the violence, vacant and abandon building, more job opportunities, and better schools.
Growing up in Greater Grand Crossing I learned a lot. The are taught me how to become a man at an early age. As well as teaching me, tragedy is apart of life you can only grow from it. I've lived in the area since my 4th birthday; it can either make or break who you will become.
I love the Grand Crossing neighborhood! I'm so pleased with the Stony Island arts bank, the black cinema house and the rebuild foundation. They are working to hard to bring art and opportunity back to the neighborhood and they make it available to all parties on chicago's southside! The next few years shall be powerful for the community.
Gun violence is a HUGE problem.
I don't know what to really say
I really can't say yet what's going to become of this area
Gun shoots everyday except for the winter time. Police are around the block but arrive in dire situations very slowly
Although there is a great highschool in the area, this is the only give to this community. It is dangerous an crimefilled but is filled with a group of people trying to leave that life behind and move forward.
To my understand people do not live in this area very long
The crime in this area is getting worse, more people are dieing or getting shot. The police to minimize how many people hang out on the street, because its always a group of young men and women on the corners of my neighborhood and they probably sell drugs and start fights.
The area I live in is getting worse in crime. People are shooting more often then they use to especially because its more warmer outside. There is not really any jobs for people in my area. If I could live here again I wouldn't at all this neighborhood is not a safe place for me neither my family. I would rank this area to 3 in a scale of 1-10
It's fine community and getting better over time.
The crime in the area has gotten worse with shooting and viable drug dealing sometimes.
It is pretty safe but I would love to see more home ownership and less foreclosures as well as more job openings in my community.
The presence of community outreach needs a strong presence.
