Globeville is a Latino-based community. Historically, it has always been an immigrant-based community, therefore the government tends to ignore it. The roads are horrible, the houses are deteriorating, if there are sidewalks, they are narrow, the site is a food desert, and there are limited job opportunities. Up until recently, the government decided to get involved and began to renovate the neighborhood. With Denver becoming a popular place for the wealthy to live in, the area is becoming more and more inaffordable for former residents to live in. As it stands, property values and rent prices have skyrocketed while leaving residents displaced.
Living in this area is okay. I love the city, but parking is a pain. If I were to do it all over again, I'd still live here because I have made a lot of new friends and have had lots of fun experiences being here considering where I am at is for students. What I see in the future for this area is that it could start getting better. Safety included.
I have lived in Denver for 12 years but have been a resident in globeville for 4 years. I can say I like the area it's very quite and chill. There isn't much to do in the surrounding area but it's peaceful and the people in the community are great.
