There are few options for groceries; Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are the lone supermarkets. While both are of high quality, Whole Foods is not affordable for stocking up on groceries. CVS Pharmacies abound and are always within walking distance. Not many restaurants, and the one's that exist are somewhat expensive. Lots of small coffee and pastry chains which offer little in the way of a filling meal. There are virtually no clothing stores, but they are not far nor difficult to access. As far as basic needs go, they can all be met within walking distance of this area, but are not cheap.

Although it is a city, I always feel safe because it is so close to the white house and other government agencies. There are different events going on all the time so you always have something to do.
Because it's a city, there will inherently be crime. But overall there are systems in place to prevent issues.
