Attending Robert G. Cole High School has been my first experience at a public school on a military base. Every student's parent or parents are in the military, and all of my classmates can identify with each other. Most students move every three years or less. For this reason, it has inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and welcome newcomers. Similarly, Joint-Base Fort Sam Houston reflects our nation's values and creates community through culture and diversity.

I live on a military base and I must say it is very convenient and close to everything. I also feel very safe being that I am on a highly secured base filled with police and military personnel. This community is also very close, we know all our neighbors and even the kids are close. This community also have a lot of free events for the kids and families which makes it pretty awesome.
There is lots for a family to do located near the military installation. The zoo, botanical gardens and numerous museums are located very close by. The area is lacking in bicycle trails that are easily accessible and water sports are at a miniumum.
