Flushing is a very densely populated area, meaning it contains a lot of diversity and culture along it. Over the years, Flushing has changed a lot, and many stores that once existed have now become new stores catered towards the younger generation. Flushing is the place where you can find anything. With the diverse population here, you have the chance to experience authentic sushi, Korean BBQ, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, and even classic American diners all in a single town. In such a closely knitted community like this, it's almost hard to go outside without seeing a face you know! Everyone in the community is very friendly to each other, and there are always stands all over the area for you to try out! If you want to see the highway of Flushing, I definitely recommend going to Main Street. Main Street is truly a mix and match of everything; one giant road containing anything you want to find all in one place. Overall, Flushing is a great place to visit or even stay at!
I think that Flushing is a very diverse and remotely safe area. While comparable to Chinatown where it is filled with tourists, Flushing is full of residents that roam around to get their daily tasks done. It is filled with shops and restaurants that are full of impact and nostalgia that can bring anyone back to their childhood. It is the place I call home and it brings me joy to see people also loving the culture that it spreads. But one thing about this neighborhood is that it's not kept as clean as it should be. While there are weekly cleanings, the smell of the area is largely affected by the amount of trash that is polluted on the streets and I hope to see more frequent cleanups than there are currently.
Growing up in Flushing, Queens has been a great experience. Over the years it has grown and changed in many different ways such as businesses and the restaurant scene. In this diverse community you get to experience different foods from Asian cuisine (Korean BBQ, Sushi, Thia food, Chinese food) to American diners. Growing up in the community Iv gone to public school and eventually worked in it as well. You get to build a close relationship with many people because of the tight community and how family oriented it is. I highly recommend Flushing as a place to grow and start a family!
