Growing up in Flushing, Queens has been a great experience. Over the years it has grown and changed in many different ways such as businesses and the restaurant scene. In this diverse community you get to experience different foods from Asian cuisine (Korean BBQ, Sushi, Thia food, Chinese food) to American diners. Growing up in the community Iv gone to public school and eventually worked in it as well. You get to build a close relationship with many people because of the tight community and how family oriented it is. I highly recommend Flushing as a place to grow and start a family!
Growing up in Flushing, I was exposed to many cultures that helped shaped me as a person now. Flushing is a place for all occasions. Are you hungry? There's no need to fuss with the abundance of restaurants everywhere around you. Looking for a new outfit? No worries! There are many boutiques sprinkled through the lively area. Whether visiting flushing or a native, the sense of community is very strong with local uncles playing checkers amongst themselves and the aunties dancing around with their young children chasing after each other. Flushing is a place of welcoming memories.
Queens is an incredibly diverse borough, and a ride on the Q44 can prove just that. Starting on the cross section of union turnpike and main street you are greeted with one of the only kosher dunkin donuts in Queens. Hop on the Q44 going towards flushing main street you will pass by kissena park, botanical gardens, and an abundance of asian cuisines! The neighborhood life is very calm and diverse! There are a couple of schools in the area including Queens college, Townsend High school, and PS 164 (elementary, middle school, and junior high).
