Hampton, Virginia is one of the most popular cities on the east coast. Many people dream about living in a location like this because, there are endless opportunities. The City has done a great job building new things in this area while improving interstates and new shopping centers! If you're an upcoming athlete you also have a great outlet in the "757" ,we call it. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but here. Hey, how many people can say they live 5 minutes from the beach?
The crime rate in Hampton can be a bit hectic at times. Summer is one of the most active times, while teens are exposed to more congested events;Which can sometimes lead to shooting and fighting. Neighborhoods are also hot-spots for shootings. The police are very responsive but can't seem to tame the violence. On the other hand, there are plenty of peaceful residents in the area.
I enjoyed living in the apartments, made it easy to get to places. I feel like the area isn't as much of a place easy to make friends for someone just graduating high school and going to school. Most of the events and fun stuff like festivals take place further out in another city such as Norfolk or Virginia Beach, which can be bit of a drive at times with traffic.
