Great city neighborhood. Walkable to Center City and lots of museums, libraries, book stores, shopping, abundant public transportation, Target and Whole Foods and a generally safe area. Living here was great. Small locally owned restaurants and shops were great. There’s the occasional one off crime but this seems rare. Parking can be hard to find, especially during Terror Behind the Walls. Overall a great place to live.
Love the neighborhood. Great for families. Quiet and relaxed but still close to the city. Plenty of trees as well to make you feel like you are outside of the city. Easily to walk around and navigate. Close by to museums and other historical landmarks that make exploring your own neighborhood easy to do. Always something to do and see while walking around. Great restaurants and coffee shops to eat and drink at. Walkable to grocery stores to get whatever you need. Bike friendly. Sometimes hard to find parking on the street but never that great of an issue. Neighborhood is clean and everyone takes care of their property. Nice to see a lot of foliage and flowers that attract wildlife such as bees and butterflies as well as birds. Local community garden plots also bring a sense of unity as well as an added visual bonus. Overall there aren't many negatives to living in Fairmount and whatever negatives there are they are out weighed by the positives within the neighborhood.
Nice and quiet and with an assortment of bars and restaurants on many corners. Fairmount park is easily accessible and Center City is a pleasant walk down the Parkway away. Great place!
