I lived in the East Side of San Jose for the majority of my life. Typically it is populated with low-income families. Most are just hard working folk trying to make ends meat in this crazy economy. My neighborhood progressively became safer over the years. There may be some incidences once in a while, but nothing severe. There is an abundance of grocery and restaurant options nearby, which is fantastic.

I love the diversity within this part of the city of San Jose. The majority of the communal centers are targeted towards the majority population of hispanic origin. There are a lot of immigrant families as there are new generations of being of ethnic-American. I would like to see more affordable whole foods markets within these areas to make accessibility for eating well. I want to see less fast food restaurants, and I want to see more updated technology to improve the area.
I have lived on the East side of San Jose for almost eleven years and although I like my little community, I wish I felt more safe there. So many sirens, helicopters that keep me up on some nights, unable to sleep. Scared to jog at the nearby park or even walk from the neighborhood market across the street.
