I lived in the East Side of San Jose for the majority of my life. Typically it is populated with low-income families. Most are just hard working folk trying to make ends meat in this crazy economy. My neighborhood progressively became safer over the years. There may be some incidences once in a while, but nothing severe. There is an abundance of grocery and restaurant options nearby, which is fantastic.
Very vibrant city! A lot of diversity in all types of race. People are usually really friendly! I would totally recommend everyone to take a visit there!
The population here is 100% dominated by Mexican culture. There are attempts to control gang violence, but it can be seen leeching itself to students of any age. Funding for school and homes here is poor despite being at the heart of the silicon valley.
