I live in the heart of East Sacramento where trees are scattered throughout the neighborhood and the old soul of Sacramento glimmers through the area. It may not be the hip downtown scene of Sacrament, but East Sacramento has a variety of different locally owned stores and restaurants to discover. All of which are dedicated to spreading a warm friendly welcome to anyone who walks in. Here we are close to Sacramento State University and to some of the oldest communities, so we're a mix of millennials and elderly folks who all enjoy a good walk by the Sacramento River. In the morning bustle where the crisp morning air freshly hits you with leaves scattered you can spot a mom, baby, and dog all taking a jog around the neighborhood. College students bicycling to get coffee. And old folks taking a stroll in the neighborhood they love so much enjoying the day with a hot cup of coffee.

Tons of great restaurants and things walking distance. Great apartments and vicinity close to the college! Only downside is quite a lot of homeless people, but that comes with most big cities.
Lived in East Sacramento for almost a decade and absolutely loved it. Great quality of life, extremely walkable (I could walk to almost any store and plenty of restaurants and bars from my apartment). The giant sycamore urban forest is the environment you are getting here, beautiful homes also and right on the light rail. I can understand why it's one of the most coveted and expensive neighborhoods in Sacramento. The crime was fairly low, occasionally you'd get some spill over from North Oak Park or a drunk person. I would live in ES again in a heart beat.
