I lived here during my college years. Unconventional from living on campus or near campus but it was worth it because this neighborhood was a heavenly oasis. A home I made my own. Within walking distance of River Stone Ranch my old apartment complex, I could reach a whole 6+ mile walking trail. Which is a totally separate walking trail from the Whole Foods nearby. If I didn't feel like spending a ton on groceries, the beloved HEB Texas grocery store is right down the road. Truly a wonderful distance from University/Downtown, while letting me escape the bustle of it all. I miss this place so much, just thinking about it takes my breath away. I hope people find the same kind of comfort that I found in it before.
Moving from Houston to Austin, I was pleasantly surprised to find the more relaxed environment I now live in. There is greenery and trees lining every yard and street, yet it still feels open and airy because you can still see the sky and hills of Austin clearly. There is an emphasis on being outdoors, where people in my neighborhood hike down to the river behind our houses on the weekends. Most of my neighbors went to the same school as I did and I loved getting to walk home from school with them. There is a true sense of community in my neighborhood, where parents look out for the kids like a second set of eyes to make sure they are safe. In such a fast-paced world and life, I love getting to come home to my neighborhood and home, where I feel at peace.
I wouldn't live here again because they are apartments, I hope to have my own home eventually. It is a nice place though, I'd definitely recommend it to others, especially ones with kids that are or will attend the middle school nearby
