East Elmhurst is one of the most diverse areas of Queens, NYC. I love the diversity in East Elmhurst. People from multiple ethnic backgrounds live and work here together to keep the community as great as it is. There are different types of food available from all the different cultures. Clothing and apparel is also available in local shopping markets in the area, which also consist of a variety of styles and designs from different ethnic groups. The quality of education in the public school system in East Elmhurst is also very good. Children are taught proper skills needed in order to succeed in their academic career, in order to achieve their highest potential. Parks, children's playgrounds, and multiple facilities are also available to everyone in this community. East Elmhurst is kept very clean and is also an animal friendly neighborhood.

Born & raised there. For being part of the city I’d say is one of the best areas to live in. It’s relatively safe, you can walk down the streets without feeling threatened, the part that I lived at now has a shelter with sketchy people now walking around...though still safe you should be always be aware of your surroundings. Though technology is sucking up jobs, NYC in general still has several available.

The biggest downfall is the cost of living in East Elmhurst has skyrocketed. I love the neighborhood, no other like it but it’s unaffordable, you also have a few knuckleheads wanting to imitate what they see on T.V., again, pretty safe, crime is pretty low, you rarely hear about things BUT ALWAYS BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. 2Corinthians 5:21.
Overall East Elmhurst is a great neighborhood. Everything is nearby for example restaurants, pharmacies, supermarkets. And for the things not so nearby we have many busses and train in the area. There are busses which can take you near to 42 st time square and Harlem or Astoria, all in less than 30 minutes. Although East Elmhurst is a quiet family oriented neighborhood, there are many lounges and bars in the area if you're into that sort of thing. Also thought I should mention it is a very diverse area culturally and LGBT safe. Love living here!
