As a current resident in Downtown Miami I must say this it is my favorite place to live in all South Florida. Located right in the heart of Miami, right between innovating Brickell, Midtown and South Beach; it is the most convenient location the city has to offer. Downtown offers many benefits like alternative routes to skip traffic and really near-by access to the highway, beautiful Bayfront Park along Bayside Mall with its Marina, free metro mover transportation to Brickell and surrounding areas. With many diverse restaurants and bars in the area it only seems to get better. The only issue that needed fixing was more surveillance by the cops and it has recently been solved already by cops taking regular day to day surveillance shifts in the corners of streets.
Downtown has everything to offer to millennials in terms of activities, education and cultural intelligence. It is extremely diverse and has tons of free events to go to. Don't get things twisted though you don't want to find yourself walking alone at night in certain areas. Its really sad the amount of homeless. They really need to build more shelters and help the people in need.
What i like about Downtown is the variety of attractions and learning facilities that exist within walking reach. Something that i would like to improve about Miami is it's infrastructure starting for the public transportation.
