Disston Heights Reviews
I have lived here for almost 12 years now and considering this area in general it is great. There are many things close by: the mall, movie theaters, restaurants, downtown St. Pete, the beach, and much more! It is a pretty central location and I would choose to live here again. I have not traveled to many other places in the country but compared to where I used to live this is amazing. Very safe for me to play outside when I was a kid and there are plenty of kids who play around here. This neighborhood gets better every year with the landscaping improvements on properties and the new residents. It is generally very quiet but I see it become just a little bit more lively.
I have not encountered or heard of crime in the specific area that I live in. Crime mostly happens in south St. Pete. There are several police officers who live on my street and I see their vehicles very often. The biggest concerns in this neighborhood were unkept yards from vacant houses, or a street light that doesn't work all the time. That is the extent of the concerns that I have had. Sometimes people would speed through this little neighborhood but the city put speed bumps to prevent that.
There are a lot of businesses that are hiring, but some are pickier than others in choosing perspective employees. Oftentimes there are more people looking for jobs than spots available fore hire.
