Jefferson County Schools needs to go back to neighborhood schools instead of busing. The gripes are not because of diversity it's because of having to send small children on buses to a school many miles away. Some children are on a bus for an hour before they get home. Also, having to drive to after school activities and programs is a hassle. Parents want to get back to the convenience of neighborhood schools. It would promote for better community involvement Parents have to sacrifice to pay for parochial or private education, leaving them strapped and working extra jobs to make ends meet. Of course there are some good schools in the public school system, but you must be in that "cluster" and if not, you don't have a choice. The Magnet schools are difficult to get in to and others are by lottery. Otherwise, Louisville is a wonderful city to raise a family. Many people move back to Louisville because they miss it!
Many large companies downtown, just a ten min drive. Many large financial institutions, hospitals, and insurance companies that provide a lot of jobs to people here in Louisville
I love crescent hill, I think it's great because there are restaurants and bars here, but it's not a big party area either so it's got the best of both worlds. I work in the area as well and I love the atmosphere at work. I would definitely choose to live here again. It's the best place to come home to after traveling.
