In this general area, there are mostly delis and pizza shops, nothing terribly attractive.

I wouldn't say that a lot of people around here are physically active. You never see anyone jogging in my neighborhood. Quality fitness facilities can be found but usually require a 20 minute drive to get to.
Driving in New York is terrible. Cycling in Staten Island is extremely dangerous. Walking in this general area is generally safe.
