Boise has a mix of locally owned businesses, most of which provide excellent service, however many areas of the treasure valley can be dominated by chain or big box stores. Over the past few years the ratio has improved however, I would like to see more small and family owned businesses. The locally owned restaurants in Boise are stellar. Some of my favorites include: Sofia's Greek Bistro, The Fork, Fresh off the Hook, and Goodie's!

Boise is a wonderful place to raise a family. I grew up here, and could not imagine living anywhere else. The greenbelt and foothills are amazing for outdoor adventures, and the people here are some of the friendliest you'll ever meet. The food is pretty awesome, and prices are pretty low.
The outdoor recreational activities around Boise are fantastic. There are hiking and biking locations minutes from downtown and the foothills are amazing. Just an hour outside of town there is hiking, rafting, kayaking, skiing, snowboarding and so many more activities.
