Clifton is a diverse neighborhood whose residents include the University of Cincinnati students and professors, medical professionals employed at the enormous complex of hospitals adjacent to the community, and professionals working in downtown Cincinnati, which is maybe a 10-15 minute drive away. It is a very stable and friendly community, very accepting of new residents. The community has a vibrant neighborhood business district and a very active neighborhood assoc. The community has a wide variety of housing types ranging from inexpensive apartment flats to exquisite mansions. It is a community where many residents have lived there for most of their lives because residents can stay in the community as their housing needs change over time. It has all the energy of being next to a major university, but also is like living in a small friendly town. A unique neighborhood indeed!
Clifton is a great college town. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and things to do within minutes of your doorstep. Like any urban area, there are places in Clifton that you need to be extra careful and have street smarts. I would recommend the area for college students!
Clifton is a very interesting section of Cincinnati to live in. It houses many UC students, which makes it a somewhat quiet neighborhood. Many a homeless people also live in Clifton, which is something that every neighborhood in Cincinnati can improve on. Clifton is the perfect neighborhood if you love walking. Living in Clifton allows you to walk all the way to downtown or OTR, or Camp Washington, or West End, or Queensgate, or Mount Auburn, or CUF, or, if you ambitious, even Kentucky. Generally, a safe neighborhood for all people and lots of opportunities to do things for all ages.
