I lived lived in Chestnut Hill for about 20 years, from when my daughter was born to when she left for college four years ago. It is very safe, and there is a lot of green space. Additionally, we lived right next to The Street and the Shops at Chestnut Hill. We lived in the Brookline part and my daughter went to the Baker School, so she got a great education. However, there is not much diversity, in terms of race, sexuality, or socio-economic status. I loved living in Chestnut Hill. But as soon as my daughter left for college, my husband and I moved back to NYC. To summarize, it’s great for families with kids who have money and like living in the suburbs (neighbors who don’t talk to you and having to drive everywhere). If you don’t match that description, I’d say live in Brookline or Boston instead.
Our area was one of the darkest neighborhoods in Newton. Even during day time, sunlight is covered by the number of trees on the street. Therefore, on the winner, it is especially cold too. However, our street is very beautiful during spring. It's like walking through a tunnel covers by cheerful color trees.
One time I like about my neighborhood is that each house is separated nicely. It doesn't look messy this way. I study at Newton South High School so going to school is very convenience for me. Only takes a
five minutes driving and a half an hour walking.

Chestnut Hill is a very safe area to live in and a very cute town. The people who live here are very nice and all seem to be upper-middle class. It is a college town so there are lots of young and bright students roaming around. There are lots of stores, malls, and great places to eat.
