I've lived in Central Berkeley for 34 years, raising two children through the public schools. Both achieved degrees from top schools, nationally. I love being able to walk to all the best amenities a diverse city has to offer: theatre, restaurants, movies, libraries, parks, public transport, city offices, and yes, my local Y and a Trader Joe's! What's not to love?

Central Berkeley is a huge eating hub. Theres are restaurants lining the streets. Berkeley High, the public high school is right of the main street which brings a lot of high school foot traffic to the businesses. The college students attending Cal Berkeley as located very close to here as well so there is a lot of student culture surrounding this area. It's a great place to grab a bite and a movie or simply just observe student life in a beautiful place like Berkeley.
There is great diversity in this area!
