I have lived in cathedral heights my entire life, I would highly recommend it to anyone coming to dc. All my fondest memories are tide to it. Weather it was going to elementary school 4 blocks away, falling in love with soccer, or making the best life long friends a guy could ask for, it means everything to me, and I feel as though I represent it no matter where on earth I go. I don't have any big changes in my head, but I guess like a lot of places today, affordability in housing and the sharp rise in rent is a big concern. Other then that it's a very friendly, community based area were people are there for one another.
Love this neighborhood. It is super safe and has a good amount of things to do. The best part about it is obviously the cathedral. I have spent many evenings on the front lawn - watching the sunset, having picnics, etc. This neighborhood is good for college students because American, Georgetown, and GW are all not too far from here. I go to UDC and it is also just a short bike ride away.
I like how safe it is and how accesible restaurants, supermarkets, and banks are. I do agree that there could be a metro station (tenleytown and cleveland park ate both too far to walk to). Also, living is a bit expensive and there are so many college students, like me, that would benefit from living in this area (close to AU and GW). But due to high rents, it is very dificult. The restaurants here, although good, are very pricey too. Lastly, it would be more beneficial to us if there was a better bike trail.
