Living in Carmel Mountain Ranch is truly a blessing. Everything you need is close by, ranging from restaurants, stores for clothing, electronics, and general needs, as well as banks and grocery stores. Carmel Mountain is always busy most of the week and there is a community feel to living here. The neighborhoods around Carmel Mountain Ranch are decent and well-kept, and you'll always find something to do while you're in the neighborhood.
I have lived in Carmel Mountain Ranch my entire life. The community is very tight-knit, especially during the holidays. For example, Christmas light shows and street festivals are well-known. Also, the CMR plaza has everything regarding shops. There are grocery and clothing easily accessible. These stores also allow for job opportunities for everyone, including teen-friendly jobs. What could be improved, however, is the street lighting and conditions. There are certain roads that are in need of redoing and residential streets that could use more lights for night driving.
Carmel Mountain is a clean, friendly community right in the heart of everything that you could needed, from multiple shopping complexes, grocery stores, restaurants, and more. Without the hustle of the city you are still close to San Diego and all it has to offer from places of entertainment to a variety of events that are constantly taking place. There is always something to do for people with all kinds of interests, from taking surfing lessons at one of many beaches, to visiting Sea World or the San Diego Zoo, to touring the museums at Balboa.
