The area is very walkable. There are a lot of dining, shopping and entertainment options right in the neighborhood. The area is very diverse.
I am a Howard student. When I first came to DC, everyone was warning me about the crime in the Shaw area. But, when I arrived I realized that it really was not that bad. It is a nice neighborhood.
