Great hood, if expensive. My wife and I have lived here since '96. Lots of great old homes, lots of fancy new ones. You can walk to everything. There must be fifty restaurants within hoofing distance. And there's a surprising number of young families here despite the high priced real estate.

The only downside is the high cost of living, fueled by high property taxes and a city and county government rife with corruption and incompetence.

I adore Bucktown, Chicago. This neighborhood is packed with a variety of individuals, couples, families, and more. I love the small business shops lining Damen Avenue along with the 606 entrance on the same street. The rent is affordable and the nightlife is plentiful, but not too invasive.
Buck town is a thriving community on the Northwest side of Chicago. Nestled between Wick Parker and Logan Square, Buck town offers a diverse range of restaurants, music venues, shops, parks and theaters to frequent and interact with locals. The 606 trail runs through Buck town where community members can walk with their families, biker can train for upcoming races, and runners can get their exercise in. Buck town is just a short ride from downtown Chicago on the Chicago Transit Authority's Blue line.
