Brooklyn is a small neighborhood nestled in Portland, OR between Powell Blvd and East/West Moreland. Its location is extremely convenient, for quick access to various public elementary, middle, and high schools is available via bus or car. Though it offers little more than a few cafes, bars, and corner stores, Brooklyn has two highly kid-friendly parks (one of which is part of an elementary school) and is perfect for a quick stroll through the neighborhood. On top of this, its accessibility lets one easily bus downtown or just to the quaint neighboring area of Sellwood for shopping. It does, however, have two fairly dangerous intersections on Powell and Holgate, the latter of which has frequent crashes. Its housing is a mix of cheap older houses and new expensive condos. Luckily there is more of the former, but gentrification encroaches.
What I like about Brooklyn is the location. It is easy to get to school and downtown Portland. Also, even though it is in a city, it is quiet and neighborly, and also very close to downtown Sellwood!
Very clean and quiet neighborhood, very accessible to downtown Portland, PSU Campus, OMSI, Waterfront locations and many more locations of interest. Could do without the changing housing developments buying up properties and changing the historic perspectives of Brooklyn, Oregon
