Great family neighborhood. Good neighborhood watch. Close to Carkeek park. Close to buslines. However, there have been increasing problems with theft and property crime in this neighborhood over the past few years: mail theft, property theft, car break-ins, people seen "casing" the streets while people are at work, people seen using alleys and backyards as toilets, drug paraphernalia in the bushes and near playgrounds. Unfortunate, but not uncommon in the greater Seattle area.

It's pretty calm and very nice to walk around in the summer. A lot of reported crime nearby, though, and some areas are kind of sketchy
The area is very comfortable and relatively safe. I never feared having to take the bus home even around midnight. I have never felt insecure or unsafe in this area. Many facilities are reachable in the area, including hospitals, restaurants, schools, and shopping centers. However, since it is in the city limits and not the city itself, the area is relatively calm, far from the noisy and busy city life, resulting in it being a more peaceful and safe place to live in. I believe more and more people would move in to the area soon due to its comfortable living environment and ideal place.
