Brentwood-Darlington, a mostly residential neighborhood near the Springwater Corridor, is easily accessible by car, bike, bus, and shady RV. Many of the roads are remain unimproved, thus walking is not a common mode of transport. Because of it's relative affordability, the neighborhood is more diverse than other parts of Portland. However, there are few businesses, so most of the neighborhood socializing occurs at the public schools. Parents actively engage with the community and continually strive for social improvements. This neighborhood also hosts two thriving community gardens and a muster of peacocks. Pretty cool!
I love living in this area! Brentwood-Darlington is moving up to a "desirable" place to live in SE Portland. Crime is down and property value is soaring. There is plenty to do in the neighborhood; food carts to great bike paths, and community parks to local bars. There is something for everyone.
I like the ability to commute on the bus easily from my neighborhood. I would recommend this neighborhood to others as it is a lot of families good schools, an IB school not too far away. The neighbors are friendly and there's not too much noise at night.
