We get all four seasons here. Warm temperatures can bleed all the way into November, but are usually gone by Thanksgiving at the absolute latest. The cold can bleed all the way into May, sometimes still being in the 50s mid-May. Summers can get pretty warm, and winters are cold and wet. Always have a good combination of clothes, especially in the winter. ALWAYS have a winter coat, boots, scarves, hats and gloves once winter hits, for it can be brutal.

The location I'm in allows me to easily get to Southside, Oakland, or the middle of the financial district, where Market Square is. All are easily accessible by foot or public transport. There are convenience stores here, nightlife/bars, restaurants, and parks. One of the main issues would be that convenience stores and supermarkets close early, around 7 at night.
Pittsburgh is definitely a foodie city. Anyone will be able to find anything they like here, from organic/vegan, to family friendly, to fancy restaurants. There are bars galore on E Carson Street in Southside, but the clubbing is limited. Both of these options are even more limited for the under 21 crowd.
