Wonderful place to live in San Jose, although it is by no means affordable, it is still slightly cheaper than other areas of San Jose such as neighboring Almaden Valley and Willow Glen. It is also a great place to raise kids, the public schools are steadily improving and there are a host of private schools nearby. Parks, shopping, and other amenities are all very close by and convenient.

The safety is more or less ok. As can be expected in bigger cities such as San Jose, there is the occasional hit and run, and/or vandalism. However, the neighborhood I live in is quiet and mostly crime-free. Police are understaffed and are more concerned with the more criminally active areas of San Jose, which has a population of over a million. However, that doesn't affect the feeling of safety in the neighborhood because all the neighbors look out for each other.
I haven't been out to any nightclubs around this area so I am unable to answer that. However the restaurants here are amazing! Love going to Chili's, BJ's, Famous Dave's and Olive Garden for their delicious food. Great atmospheres all around and a great place to hang out with friends and converse.
