This little town within the city of Pittsburgh has everything imaginable to raise a nice family: many denominations of churches and/or schools; you will never be
a loner in this little town with friends; many, many hospitals available, and it
is quite attractive. Shopping is easily accessible with many varieties of shops, grocery stores, etc., as well as a very efficient police force!

Bloomfield needs to see a major shift in diversity. Many residents have resided here for generations, bringing a "family feel" to the neighborhood, however it is predominately white. The local restaurant scene is decent and what I believe to be expanding in terms of tastes and cuisines, and the location is superb. I think that real estate may be too expensive for what you get. I would love to see this neighborhood bloom within the next five years.
I now live in the Bloomfield neighbourhood of Pittsburgh and I truly do feel more comfortable here. The people who live here are more diverse and that is super important to me. Less hassle driving about and parking my car. Taking the bus around this end of town is better as I only need to take one bus to work and only walk 5 minutes to catch it.

When my living situation had to change unexpectedly, my first pick for a new place to live was in Bloomfield. There's several parks very close and shopping is still not very far away. I recommend it to folks in the 20s and 30s who are looking for a safe place to live for a good price.
