Been here since I was born! Quiet neighborhood but lively when needed. There is a flee market across form the high school every Saturday with good produce. Great milk tea spots, although maybe not as notable as other areas.

It generally feels very safe here, and there are many great places to go out and eat, chill, or study. However, the public schools aren't the greatest. There are a lot of nice public places like parks to hang out with your family and friends. I went to Independence High School and it was lacking in funding for things like building maintenance or school supplies, but the great teachers made up for it.
Berryessa is neighborhood that is going through some growing pains as older commercial and residential blocks are trying to modernize in order to better serve the growing community. Traffic density has worsened and the construction of a new BART station may only add to the congestion. The homelesness crisis is clustered around the area due to our less fortunate neighbors erecting camps behind businesses and in secluded shrubbed areas near the freeway entrances ( doesnt help that the city just pushes them around rather then help them) The area can sometimes be trashed up and that leaves a negative impact on the neigbnorhoods image. Ive lived here all my life and the area has seen some better days.
