Bernal Heights Reviews
Rating 4.1 out of 5 10 reviews
Bernal Heights is a lovely place, with a nice community and a beautiful park. It's not overflowing with families, but there is still a good amount. My family has made lifelong bonds with a family the street up. Another pro is Cortland street, where almost all the shops are. There are coffee shops, a library, a park, a grocery store, a pet grooming store, a community center, and many restaurants. The only cons I'd say are that it's very hilly, there aren't a lot of schools in the neighborhood (although there are some great ones nearby), and that the coyotes at the park will go after the cats if you let them out at night. All in all, it's a lovely place!
My neighborhood is very convenient to live in and this comes from a teenager who does not have her own or a family car. There are at least 3 bus lines that run through the neighborhood. There is a street named Cortland st. that has all sorts of stores: local grocery, pet store, high end / more expensive restaurants, low end / affordable restaurants, real estate market, bike store, barber shop, bakeries, nail salons, thrift stores, convenient stores, bars and many more! There is also a beautiful public library and Catholic Church located also on Cortland st. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. There are at least 2 elementary schools in the neighborhood.
Quiet neighborhood, friendly neighbors. Only negative is the occasional person driving through the stop sign on the busy street.
