The local businesses in this area are pretty amazing considering the diverse ethnic backgrounds of many of the owners. Many restaurants, in particular, are owned and operated by first-generation Americans who have brought their native cuisine to various communities and even stand-alone streets, within South City St. Louis and the neighborhood of Benton Park.
There isn't much, and if your looking for something of the sort, it's usually a good drive away, but whatever's there is usually family owned, and average quality
