Bath Beach is a residential neighborhood on the south side of Brooklyn. It's a great neighborhood to take walks and raise a family, but there isn't much else there. To enjoy night life you will need to travel to Bensonhurst or Bay Ridge, as there are almost no places open late night here. There are at least 3 public schools here, so you have choices when it comes to where to send your kids for their education. The only major businesses/job opportunities are on 86th Street, since it is mostly a residential neighborhood. There are plenty of buses that go through Bath Beach, but the closest subway station is in Bensonhurst at 18th Avenue.
I’ve lived in bath beach my whole life. It has always been a predominately Asian neighborhood with little diversity with the exception of my family and a few others. I’ve never known of any unusual or criminal activity until recently with the help of the citizen app. Lately I’ve been receiving updates of various fires, vehicle crashes, and reports of gun sightings or shots around my neighborhood. I go to school in bay ridge, and the ride from my house to school in a car is roughly ten minutes, a commute can range from a half hour to an hour via the bus. My family is not very close with many people in our neighborhood, mainly because they do not speak English, but from the people I do know, it is a very conservative neighborhood with the exception of me and some of my friends who live in the surrounding area.
Bath beach is a friendly community and fairly safe. There are many small stores around the neighborhood as well as parks.
