All Categories
Loved living there. Quiet family friendly neighborhood close to everything. Walking distance to bars and restaurants and only a short Uber ride to the old port.
No matter what city you're in, there will be crime. Portland is not an extremely wealthy city and there is a large homeless population as well as a significant drug problem. All things considered, it is still a relatively safe neighborhood with a distinct presence of police.
Employment in this area isn't lacking for people who might want a desk or retail job. However for folks in a more technical field, there aren't many job. For example someone looking for an HVAC position would be hard pressed to find a suitable job here. Those that pay well are located outside of city limits.
