Auburn Gresham is a neighborhood on the southside of Chicago so it is dilapidated as most nearby neighborhoods. The difference from neighborhoods like Englewood is that Auburn Gresham is quiter and less prone to public violence rather than other communities.
I have recently moved back in to city from the suburbs, where I have lived for 25+. After being her for 6 months I must say I had a preconceived notion that it was going to rough. Actually it is a nice area so far. Less then a block away, there is access to food and convenience stores. Overall I feel very safe walking late at night. There is decent amount of police presents and that is due to the are being home to many retired law enforcement officers, lawyers, doctors and other people who have kept the area up to a certain standard. I look forward to my husband and I raising our soon to be born child (May 10, 2018).
